Obsolete Reasons for Introduction
This new unit is a core third year unit in the revised structure for the Bachelor of Information Systems. It incorporates significant components of the content of IMS3000 in the current structure of the BIS.During the last year of study students seek an opportunity to apply much of what they have learned, and are learning, throughout the degree. The two final studio units provide this opportunity. The two units concentrate on the professional relationship with the client, especially as it develops during the analysis, design, development and delivery of a system. The concentration in Studio 5 is on team development, the client environment, feasibility study and the analysis and design phases of the SDLC. Students establish a project management regime which they apply throughout Studio 5 and Studio 6. Students continue to learn new material in their final year, and while the studio units are principally a focus for a synergetic experience, bringing together material and attitudes from many units, they also provide an environment in which some new knowledge can be acquired.
