The unit is consistent with the demands from the IS/IM professions and the workplace as evidenced through our Focus Groups for students to be able to demonstrate ICT skills and knowledge relevant to information management and information systems professionals. It is designed to educate students in the effective use of computing in a variety of organisational environments, and to orient students to ICT trends in the workplace.The unit is also designed to meet the professional accreditation requirements of the Australian Library and Information Association, the Australian Society of Archivists, and the Records Management Association of Australia.

The code for this unit has been changed from IMS9049 to FIT9026 in accordance with new Faculty procedures.
