FIT5000 is a '6' credit point enrolled, '0' credit point achievable (administrative) unit introduced for administrative purposes to create the option of an enrolment extension for the Minor Thesis, where appropriate.

This unit has been updated as part of a 2009 review and comparison of data with current Handbook, Syllabus + and Callista data.

15/3/10 - Change handbook synopsis to clarify the need for student to stay enrolled in FIT5000 upon submission of thesis past the original due date to alleviate the application of late submission penalty. Change the contact person and the wording of the synopsis to make it more succinct. change to be implemented Sem 2,2010.

16/8/11 - Changed synopsis, prerequisites and prohibitions to reflect amendment to Honours/Minor Thesis extension policy/procedure and also to comply with handbook content requirements. Change to be implemented from Semester 1, 2012.

4/02/2015 - Objectives changed to learning outcomes for AQF compliance and Semester 1, 2015 implementation.

12/07/2017: Admin - update CE.

This is an administrative unit introduced to enable an enrolment extension for the Minor Thesis, where appropriate.

Enrolment in this unit may be permitted only after completion of 24 points of minor thesis for a 24-point Minor Thesis degree or 36 points of minor thesis for a 36-point Minor Thesis degree.

The unit supports the University's strategic imperative to strengthen the link between teaching and research. It provides coursework masters students with an optional pathway to a research degree.
