This unit will allow students to research cutting edge developments in information technology. The unit will place the technical skills gained in other units into a theoretical context and allow the students to gain the skills needed to adapt to the rapidly changing information technology environment. A learning contract will be developed for each student to allow them to demonstrate the application of their research to a practical domain in the field of information technology. An additional benefit of the unit is the opportunity to introduce students to research topics in the information technology field and to explore the possibilities for further research in Research Masters and PhD programs.
