This unit emphasises the concepts involved in using the internet and related technologies (including mobile systems and web services) to conduct core e-business activities.
2005: Existing unit IMS2704 e-business being updated to fit into the new BITS degree structure with new FIT unit code.
FIT3067 Electronic Business Management is an elective 3rd level unit in the Caulfied BITS major in Systems Development.
This unit has similarities to FIT1009 e-Commerce Systems, FIT2013 e-Business Technologies and FIT3009 e-Business Systems, but is focused on management issues rather than implementation issues.
Students undertaking a Systems Development major may need to understand the management of e-Business systems in industry.

This unit introduces students to the ways organisations and businesses use the Internet and related technologies to securely conduct business activities. Students will acquire an understanding of the way e-business is carried out across all kinds of organisations for transactions and other business purposes. Students will analyse and design an e-business solution as part of a preliminary business case in order to gain an understanding of how e-business concepts can be applied to specific organisational and business environments.

High-tech lecture theatre (data projector, computer, internet access, video) for 2 hours per week
Tutorial rooms with OHP
