Reasons for Introduction

Obsolete Reasons for Introduction

This subject is part of the Bachelor of Network Computing course that is offered by the Peninsula School of Network Computing to meet the emerging demand for graduates with expertise in network computing. This course is the first undergraduate program in Australia specifically designed to produce graduates who are able to understand and use computer networks including intranets, extranets and the Internet to help meet organizational information needs. Images and image transmission play an important role in networks such as the World Wide Web or Hospital and Radiology Information Systems, and it is important that students have the opportunity to study the various currently used compression techniques in some depth.
