Reasons for Introduction
Obsolete Reasons for Introduction
This is an existing unit which we now wish to offer in summer semester and semester 2. This unit is part of the Bachelor of Network Computing course that is offered by the School of Network Computing to meet the emerging demand for graduates with expertise in network computing. This course is the first undergraduate program in Australia specifically designed to produce graduates who are able to understand and use computer networks including intranets, extranets and the Internet to help meet organizational information needs. Network computing is the technical infrastructure supporting electronic commerce. This unit introduces students to the main concepts, user issues, vendor issues, and technology related to Electronic Commerce (EC). Students will also learn about the opportunities and challenges brought about by Electronic Commerce systems and have an understanding of the business and social impacts of emerging Electronic Commerce technologies.
