BUS1060 Computer programming for business A [Comp Prog Bus A]

Reasons for Introduction

Obsolete Reasons for Introduction

SBS requests approval to change the lab session time from 2 hours to one hour after feedback from students and staff over the previous year has indicated that 2 hour labs are an ineffective use of teaching resources. Also a minor change to prescribed and recommended reading and an addition to the prohibitions (MMS1801).This is an existing unit. The School of Business Systems requests approval to extend the time of the laboratory sessions from one hour to two hours commencing semester 1, 2002. The request is made in consideration of feedback from students requesting extra time to complete laboratory work. BUS1060 Computer programming for business applications will now run two 1-hour lectures and one 2-hour laboratory session per week. In the current business environment most organisations use Windows based software and, as such, require applications developed within the organisation to be compatible and also follow similar standards. This unit is designed to introduce students to the development of commercial business applications using current industry standard development platforms.
